With over two decades of experience in education, a 500+ hour certification in meditation & yoga instruction, and a personal practice of more than two decades, I bring a calm, grounded, and evidence-informed approach to teaching meditation. My work integrates modern neuroscience with ancient wisdom, guiding you through accessible practices that support your nervous system, mindset, and emotional health.
I support students to apply the practice of meditation in a way that resonates personally and empowers them to implement this impactful daily habit in the context of real life in today’s world.
WHY MEDITATE?
Meditation is a scientifically backed practice that helps to rewire the brain, regulate the nervous system, and strengthen emotional resilience. With consistent practice, it has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and memory, balance mood, and enhance overall wellbeing. It strengthens the prefrontal cortex (responsible for decision-making and focus) and reduces the activity of the amygdala (linked to fear and reactivity).
But beyond the research, meditation offers something deeper: a return to clarity, presence, and self-trust. Whether you're navigating everyday stress or a major life transition, daily meditation creates space for more intentional responses, not reactive patterns, and from this space, lasting change becomes possible.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The Learn to Meditate course includes 2 x 90 minute sessions held online on consecutive Saturday or Sunday mornings (AEST), along with an individual follow-up call two weeks after the course is completed.
The course provides you with contextual knowledge about meditation including a brief overview of the history, lineages, traditions and science behind the practice. From there, you will be guided through some practice meditations with an opportunity for reflection, discussion and questions.
Instruction & practical experience will be scaffolded in a way that sets you up for success and sustainability. You will leave the course with a clear method of practice that is accessible, effective and enjoyable. Information about how to establish supportive conditions and cultivate consistency is also provided.
The individual follow-up call is a chance for us to work through any questions that you have and discuss your continuing practice in a 1:1 setting. I provide ongoing support to any student who has trained with me, including referrals and suggestions for those individuals who are keen to undertake further training in a specific tradition.
